One for the Road is our adaptation of Stephen King’s sequel to Salem’s Lot. The right’s acquired through the Dollar Baby program, the film is currently in pre-production. No profit can be generated from this film, with all contributions going directly into producing this movie.

Taking the wrong turn in Stephen King’s Maine, can prove fatal. For Gerard Lumley, it’s a race against the clock to save his family from the edge of Salem’s Lot, and the residents are thirsty for blood.

One for the Road

First published in the March/April 1977 issue of Maine Magazine, this short story is the sequel to Salem’s Lot. Later it was published in Stephen King’s, Night Shift, an anthology of his selected stories.

Having taken the wrong turn, Gerard Lumley finds himself broken down on a cold winter night in the Maine woods. Going for help, he finds an unlikely pair of Mainer’s to assist him. But their reluctance to render aid is suspicious, and as an outsider, Lumley is plagued with a feeling that something is just not right. With limited options, these two are his only hope. But hope abandoned all towns surrounding Salem’s Lot long ago.

    Producer, Writer, and Director, David Jester is thrilled to have received permission to make this film. He plans on giving life to this film in a way no other filmmaker has done. A main goal for David was to keep this film in Maine, and some of the locations may look familiar to those who know the state well.

    Producer and 1st Assistant Camera, Leigh Doran, is overjoyed to dive into the narrative world of filmmaking. With a background in documentary filmmaking and photography, Leigh brings a unique perspective and eye for composition to this production.

    Standing behind the camera, Sam Krueger brings his years of experience to set. Having worked many departments in film, Sam has a deep understanding of the whole process, from lighting, to directing, to camera, sound and more. As an Emmy award-winning filmmaker, his talent is sure to make this film pop.

  • Joshua Leonard: 1st AD & 2nd Camera

    A man of many talents, Josh is a powerhouse of a cinematographer. To say he brings much to this production is an understatement. His work has won awards, his mind is a boundless world of ideas, his presence will bring a calm over the production.

  • Phoebe Parker: Script Supervisor

    Phoebe’s experience in film, theater, and the arts is storied list of achievements. Her eye for detail makes her a great Script Supervisor, keeping production on track and editing seamless.

  • Mark Pauley: Grip & Electric

    What doesn’t Mark know? No, seriously, I’m asking that. This man bring years of expertise to our production, a keen, technical eye, and the know how of two lifetimes in film production. Lucky to have him on board is an understatement.

  • Peter Greeno: Grip & Electric

    Bringing experience from both film and photography, Peter has an eye for lighting that will make the most DPs blush. Elevating a scene to cinematic caliber, Peter’s skills will surely add to this production.

  • Erin Bontempo: Makeup

    Erin has spent considerable time perfecting her trade, and plans on transforming young to old, and human to vampire. With sharp teeth and red eyes, Erin will create the most sinister vampires outside of Transylvania.

  • Samantha Nazzaro: Hair

    It’s 1981 and big hair is in. Sam is going to go through so many cans of aqua net before this production is over. With over seven years in cosmetology, and experience on a 70s period film, Sam is the perfect for this production.
